The C&K Back in the Day Concert Series
not only Celebrates the Timeless Legacy of Cecilio & Kapono's Music, it also offers C&K a way to Feature & Celebrate many of Hawaii's other Great Entertainers.

This years Legend Series was C&K's way of paying Homage to some of Hawaii's Greatest "Living Legends". Those Amazingly Talented Entertainers that C&K grew up with, respected and learned from. "The True Entertainers from Back in the Day when Waikiki was a Music Mecca"!

C&K were honored and Privileged to Feature in this Years Concert:


Jimmy Borges - "The Keeper of the Flame!"
Known for his Musical Style & Respect for such Legendary Composers as Gershwin and Rodgers & Hart (and his many appearances in Hawaii Five O!), Hawaii's King of Jazz and 2008 Na Hoku Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award Winner still Performs around the World today!

Melveen Leed - "Hawaii's 1st Country Girl & Tita!"
One of Hawaii's Leading Ladies in Entertainment for 5 decades, this multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winner (including the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award) and self proclaimed "Da Tita" continues to bring her soulful voice and Local Girl Humor to the Stage and her fans to their Feet! (Melveen will be performing 8/27 & 8/28 only).

Kimo Kahoano - "The Voice of Hawaii!"
Co-host of today's hit show "Hawaii's Stars", Show Business & Radio Personality, this 2004 Na Hoku Hanohano"Moe Keale - Aloha is" Award Winner, was known "Back in the Day" as Hawaii's Top Polynesian Fire Knife Dancer, and a Top Cast Member in Waikiki's Hottest Live Nighttime Dinner Shows. An Accomplished Actor as well, Kimo received many Featured Roles in Hawaii Five O and many other Network Shows filmed in Hawaii.

Gabe Baltazar - "Hawaii's National Treasure!"
An Alto Sax Player (who needs no introduction to Hawaii Music Lovers) Gabe, was one of the last Great Graduates from the Stan Kenton Orchestra. In the '90's he recorded for the "Fresh Sound" and "V.S.O.P." Labels, showing the World what an Amazing Soloist he is! C&K are honored to have this 79 year old "Living Legend", & 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, grace their stage for a Special One Night Only (8/28) Performance!

Buddy & Sammi Fo "a Major Player in the History of Hawaiian Music!"
2003 Na Hoku Hanohano Life Time Achievement Award Winner, Buddy Fo's Career skyrocketed from the start in 1960 when he put together a four-part Harmony Group called the "Invitations" - the 1st group out of Hawaii to go to LA and Record in a Major Recording Studio. Throughout Waikiki's Entertainment Hey-Day, Buddy was a permanent fixture along side Don Ho and Kui Lee! Today Buddy & his wife Sammi are still performing. Buddy playing Ukulele and Singing and Sammi on back up Vocals and Congas, Excelling in a Time and Style of Music that is Not Seen Anymore!

Iva Kinimaka "He Aloha Mele, Pretty Hoku""
Iva Kinimaka was a household name in the 1960s through '80s, when he sang opposite Don Ho at Duke Kahanamoku's in the International Market Place and then later from his own perch at Cock's Roost. When Waikiki was in its Hey-Dey, Iva was in the Thick of it!" An Outstanding Entertainer to this day, Iva, known for the Beautiful Mele he wrote for his Daughter, "He Aloha Mele", is also know for his Squid Luau & Kalua Pig!
